The 2018-2019 program focus will be the development of and transition to upright locomotion. The 2019-2020 series will focus on pre-locomotive development.

Each year this program consists of one 3-day Intensive in the Fall, 7 weekends of ATM and FI Practicum from October through May, and one FI observation weekend in the Winter. New students may join the program in the fall.  The Fall Intensive can be taken as a stand alone advanced training.

Through rigorous study and practice of unique ATM^® and FI^sm lessons designed to deepen understanding of the highly conserved building blocks of human movement and action the program offers a potent developmental perspective. Both series will serve to significantly quicken the pace of your engagement with and mastery of the Feldenkrais Method^® inspiring a new level for creating positive influenceand employing powerful strategies in your practice.

In this program you will:

• refine your skills of analysis and observation of developmental movement patterns
• study the emergence and progression of actions organizing efficient function
• have continuing opportunity for supervised FI practice
• have the opportunity to observe and discuss Functional Integration^® lessons with infants, children, and adults throughout the year.

There will be the possibility for program students to meet and practice on the Friday before each training segment.

Practitioners who’ve completed the 2-year curriculum can apply to intern and later work with children under the supervision of Sheryl Field in the Feldenkrais For Children Program.

Training '09

As you can see the Fundamentals ATM‘s^®, and Touchstones, which covers the same themes in more depth, serve as the backbone of the program. The Intensives, Seminar Series, and FI^® Practicum will draw on these ATM‘s as resources.

So let me walk you through the diagram with a scenario… Something about all of this grabs your interest. You go online and register for the free Fundamentals ATM‘s. If you can make it to the Intensive next weekend, great. We’ll be talking about their Developmental address in depth. But either way, you’ll want to follow up. So you register for Touchstones….

And starting in November we will pick the first Fundamentals theme and look at it in detail with three new ATM‘s (available online). You can study these on your own, or contribute to the online discussion. And you could also take these new ATM‘s for November, examine their theme in Seminar Series, and practice applying each ATM in FI with a partner, debriefing in the FI Practicum. We’ll then take on the second Fundamentals theme in December, and so on… In March, again, we’ll step back and look at the big picture, this time thinking about FI application.

And next year, we will take an even deeper pass through the same developmental themes…
