Advanced Training Intensive – Fall 2015
Fall 2015 Advanced Training Intensive
Developmental Building Blocks of Human Movement and Action
From the beginning a newborn relies on a primary movement repertoire which is then developed and used for action throughout the lifespan.
In this Advanced Training Intensive we will utilize ATM and FI to feel, identify and observe the fundamental properties that act as building blocks of our every action.
We will study the pre-four month old human movement behavior to see what is and isn’t available up to that point which will help us better understand how much of what we do is emergent, constructed and learned.
In this Advanced Training Intensive we will utilize ATM and FI to identify and examine the movement resources which allow for the emergence of basic locomotive actions such as reaching, rolling, crawling, and creeping.
We will also consider the importance of experience, learning, spatial orientation, balance, traction, vision, and hearing in the development and improvement of mobility.
Selected ATM lessons will provide the experience of particular sensations related to the organization of our most fundamental movement patterns. To help further our study, the use of FI demonstration, group observation and practice will be incorporated at appropriate times.
Participants are encouraged to do our free downloadable lessons prior to the Intensive.
