Spring 2013 Intensive

Emergence of Locomotion in the Growing Child.  Experience and application.

In this Advanced Training Intensive while we continue with our examination of the movement resources which allow for the emergence of basic locomotive actions such as reaching, rolling, crawling, and creeping, our work will have a particular focus on how, we as practitioners, can effectively learn to analyze more complex locomotive patterns and develop the skill to engage with these elements to positively influence development and improvement.

We will also consider the importance of experience, learning, spacial orientation, balance, traction, vision, and hearing in the development and improvement of mobility.

Selected ATM lessons will provide the experience of particular sensation related to the organization of our most fundamental movement patterns.  To help further our study, the use of  FI demonstration, group observation and practice will be incorporated at appropriate times.
